I was the queen of undercharging and over-delivering on cakes. After I got back from cake design school in Toronto, Canada, I was willing to work with any and everyone who would pay me to design a cake.

As I started to get my cake business off the ground, Aspen Charm Cakes & Pastries, I charged what any other bakery charged in my area, $4.00 per slice. I began to notice that after all the hours, hard work of consultations, baking, designing, creating sugar flowers, delivering, photographing, advertising my business, supplies, I was making about $5.00 per hour per cake. 

I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. I ACTUALLY GOT PISSED OFF! 

I didn't create a cake business to work BELOW minimum wage. 

So I took DRASTIC action! I got super serious and FIERCE about operating my cake business as a full-time business, instead of a glorified expensive hobby.

I learned about every single possible cake expense to make a cake, pricing my cakes to make profits, branding my business as a high-end luxe cake business, and attracting high-end cake clients who would pay $8.00 - $12.00 per slice.
