Don’t just rely on The Knot and Wedding Wire - here’s why.

Let’s see….there’s advertising on wedding sites, posting on Facebook, Posting on Instagram, Selling to your friends and family, and all the other ways you can boost your cake sales.

But let’s talk about the BEST strategy to increase your cake orders that’s FREE! If you need this strategy up, it will ALWAYS work for you.

So Kristina, what is this magical strategy?

NETWORKING.

Yes! Networking.

Whhhhy networking Kristina?!

I just want to sit at home and collect wedding cake inquiries, not leave my house, and grow my business from there.

Hmm…how’s that working for you?!

Networking hands down is one the BEST strategies to increase your orders.

Selling your cakes is required for you to make money, and a lot of cake designers don’t like to put themselves out there to massively grow their business.

I’m a natural extrovert! However, when it came to putting myself out there to promote my cake business, I was so scared! I would get nervous, afraid to promote my business, and I would be nervous I would be shunned from society just for promoting my business. Dramatic I know…

However, I knew that the more people were talking about my business, the more business would come my way. I didn’t have too much money to spend on advertising my cake business online. Therefore, I had to leverage spreading the word about my cake business for free.

This is the way to rapidly grow your business! Spreading your name like wildfire happens through people. The more people who know who you are, share how amazing your cakes are, the more orders you will repeatedly book.

Yes networking is scary - but how amount having referrals after referrals come in month after month?

I’d say walk through the fear and do it!

Here’s why Networking will Double your Cake Orders.

1. Word of Mouth is the #1 Sales Strategy Ever.

Before we purchase from a company, we like to hear how amazing that company is before we buy. That’s just how our brains are wired. We love social proof. We want to feel confident in our purchasing decisions and believe we are spending our money wisely.

When you have a slew of people in your local area promoting your cake business, for you, for free - sharing to their customers how awesome you are… the sale is pretty much complete.

2. Networking makes your cake business Spread like Wildfire.

When you are building your network, people in the event planning industry will talk about you.

Which is a good thing!

And the more people talk about you, the more people know about you, the more inquiries and orders you will book.

And this is happening for FREE. While you have your paid advertisements going, you have your network building for you as well.

Utilize all strategies in your advantage and not just rely on paid advertising to build your business.

3. Your Cake Business becomes trusted.

When your cake business has an amazing reputation, people will know that and want to spread your business.

Trust is required in order to steadily grow your cake business. The more people trust you, the more people will recommend you, the more orders you will book.

It compounds and compounds over and over for YEARS.

Do the work to reap the benefits in the long run.

Building your cake business is a long steady race, not a sprint.

Should you put your Cake Prices on your Website?

Should you or should you not put your prices on your website?

You don’t want to scare customers away right?

But you also are tried of attracting clients with super low cake budgets and somewhat annoyed how they want a 3 tiered cake for $50.00. (and yes someone will take this order in your home town!)

Not only do I believe you should put your prices on your website, I’m going to list reasons why you need to put your prices on your site!

1. YOU ATTRACT THE RIGHT CUSTOMERS TO YOUR BUSINESS WHO WILL PAY YOUR PRICES

Yes, you want to scare budget customers away! You want to scare the ones who won’t pay your prices anyways and will waste your time in the long run.

Formally known as the budget customers!

Most of the time, customers don’t want to waste their time looking for cakes.

Additionally, when you put your prices on your website, you are letting customers know the requirements to do business with you.

Customers aren’t going to reach out to you if they know they won’t pay your prices. This helps save your customers time and most importantly, you time!

2. PUT YOUR MINIMUM CAKE ORDER PRICING ON YOUR WEBSITE

When you have a cake minimum, you are letting customers know how much money they need to pay you for an order. Some customers want a $12.00 cupcake order, some want a $250 wedding cake order.

Do you know what your cake minimum is to do business with you? Place it on your Frequently Asked Questions section and inside your first response customer inquiry email.

This avoids customers who don’t want to pay your prices. Customers who are perfectly fine to pay your prices will pay them. You have to trust they will.

3. BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR PRICING

Insecurity can be smelled from a mile away by your customers and if you aren’t confident in letting people know your pricing requirements ahead of time, it will be very hard charge consistent pricing.

You may find yourself taking any and every order at any price.

The more confident you are in your pricing, the more confident you are to tell your customers, and the more confident they will be in paying you.

Confidence makes your business successful! Strengthen this area and you will find customers who will easily and effortlessly charge your prices.
